The old corporate folder was getting a little stale, to say the least. It was little more than one color and a logo. Similar to any 5ยข school folder you used to buy in late August.
The task was to create a design that will stand out in press rooms where there are stacks and stacks of media kits. They wanted it to be bright and colorful, and more personable.
The first design I came up with for this piece was probably my favorite (and I eventually worked it into a catalog cover a couple years later), but the client preferred this one because it represented all the different aspects of the company, from the fields and farmers to the consumer.
The printed piece is much brighter and more colorful than you can see here. It also featured a little spot varnish on the copy along the left side. The printer liked it so much they entered into The Detroit Club of Printing House Craftsmen and won a gold award for it in 2004.
